Fire Alarm Guy

Field Tool

Model Replacement Assistant

Search an old fire alarm model number and get a conservative replacement direction, same-family warning, and field checklist before ordering or swapping parts.

Replacement rule: Addressable devices are usually not interchangeable across brands or protocols. Conventional and notification devices still need voltage, listing, sync, candela, and compatibility review.

4. Power / sync / candela

For notification appliances, match voltage, candela, sync protocol, wall/ceiling type, and environmental listing.

5. Documentation

Record existing model, replacement model, location, circuit/address, test result, and any limitations.

6. AHJ / customer review

For design-impacting changes, verify approved drawings, customer standard, and AHJ expectations.
